The study on vehicle drivers and bicyclists interactions and communications
Project Abstract/Statement of Work:
In this project, we investigate and analyze how drivers interact and communicate with bicyclists on roadways, and examine how varying environmental and vehicle factors may influence such interactions. The focus of this study is on two most common types of driver-bicyclist interactions (1) drivers overtaking bicyclists, and (2) drivers yielding to bicyclist at or near intersections. Algorithms are also developed to predict bicyclists’ trajectories.
